Preformed Abrasives

Abrasives remove and even out surfaces, removing imperfections and burrs, and allow for uniform polishing. They are chosen according to the material, the desired finish, and the type of vibratory finish, with various shapes and sizes for optimum processing.

Chemical Compounds

Vibron's ISO 9001-certified vibrofinishing compounds clean, deburr, polish, protect against corrosion and prepare parts for final finishing. Available in liquid, powder and paste formulas, they guarantee excellent quality and results.

Liquid and powdered compounds

Depending on their composition, they can perform different actions, such as rust protection, pickling, cleaning, degreasing and polishing.

There are also powder compounds useful for the accelerated chemical superfinishing (VCM) process.

Superfinishing pastes

Vibrofinishing pastes are ideal for removing burrs and imperfections, making surfaces smoother and more uniform, and achieving specific polishes and finishes. They can be used individually or in combination with other compounds, adapting to the processing needs and characteristics of the parts to be treated.

Superfinishing VCM

The VCM (Vibrofinitura Chimico Meccanica) superfinishing process, or isotropic finishing, uses vibrating machines with high specific gravity granules and selective chemical compounds. This method acts on the roughness of the metal, creating a surface film that is removed along with the irregularities to achieve a smooth and uniform surface. It is a gentle treatment that improves the performance and efficiency of machined parts by reducing roughness without altering the geometry of components.

Results and benefits

  • Very low roughness: less than Ra 0.05 → reduced friction, consumption
and operating temperature, vibration and noise.
  • Absence of surface stresses → improved mechanical performance.
  • Increase in surface microhardness → increase in mechanical strength.
  • Maintenance of dimensional integrity.
  • Extending component life and maintenance time.
  • Increased lift, fatigue cycling resistance and lubricity.
  • Reduced operating costs.

Treatable materials:

The VCM process can treat special steels, martensitic stainless, and heat treatment steels, obtaining flat surfaces with minimal roughness without altering the geometry and dimensions of the treated parts.

Areas of use:

Energy, automotive, motorsport, aviation, construction machinery, hydraulics, pneumatics, transmission.
